Their Fellowships began with an intensive training period at our office in Ottawa. Alongside other participants from the SAIs of Brazil, Korea and Taiwan, the Fellows participated in five of our performance audit courses. Working with CAAF mentors, the Fellows also began work on their audit plan projects, applying lessons from these courses. In mid-September, the Fellows joined their Canadian host offices: the Offices of the Auditors General (OAG) of Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec and Canada. There the Fellows will each be part of an audit team, allowing them to observe and practice Canadian performance audit methodologies, learn from Canadian mentors and colleagues, and contribute their skills to the work of the office. They will also continue to work on their audit plan projects with mentors at their host offices and at CAAF.
CAAF wishes the Fellows a warm welcome and great success during their stay in Canada. “We are sure our nine months together in Canada—plus our ongoing relationships following the graduation—will be highly rewarding for the Fellows, the host offices and for CAAF,” said Terry Hunt, CAAF Vice-President for International Programs. “We thank the Fellows for their enthusiastic participation and hard work, the host offices and their staff for their professional and personal contributions to the Fellowships, and the Government of Canada for funding this program.” Read more: About the Fellowships
