In the Fellowships, performance auditors complete on-the-job learning with a Canadian legislative audit office and receive mentoring as they develop an audit plan. In the Leaders Programs, participants from supreme audit institutions (SAIs) or oversight committees meet with Canadian audit offices and institutions and work with mentors to develop a project addressing a strategic need. Both components exemplify the principal feature of the international program: international participants and our Canadian partners working closely together.
Graduates of the Fellowships and Leaders Programs play central roles in increasing the effectiveness of their SAIs’ and oversight committees’ practices. Graduate Fellows are expected to become leaders in their SAIs’ performance audit departments, and Leaders Program participants are expected to spearhead the implementation of institutional-level changes that support sustainable improvement.
